Escape

by Candy Rohde

She lifts buttered moonlight
with her fingertips,
smooths it over the sea,
trickles her hands
over crumpling sand,
scatters her clothes
like weeds,
vanishes in an eau-de-Nil
pod of a boat,
paddling a dream
draped in smoke.
